Here is my speech so far that I'm working on in class:

Stand up 4 change day is all about taking a stand against all the name calling, stereotyping, and all the social labels that other chose to define you. Today is all about putting and end to all of that. While you’re here today you’re standing up not just with the people around you here, but with 9 million others across the world. Together with the help of you we can put an end to bullying all across the nation for good.

Here is the paragraph I wrote for the WAG:

Defeat the label is a bullying awareness organization. It works together with a number of companies and organizations to promote an end to bullying of students who are to afraid to go to their friends, classmates and even their family for help. They reach out to students not just in the United States but all over the world. On May 3rd they’re teaming up with Brilliant Chemistry, channel 98.7 and many other companies to take a stand against all the name-calling, social labels and stereotypes. Covington students at Campus Marshes in Detroit along with 9 million others across the world will take a stand for stand up 4 change day to give their part to stand up to bullying.

Final:

Stand up 4 change day is all about taking a stand against all the name calling, stereotyping, and all the social labels that others chose to define you. While you’re here you’re standing up not just with the people around you, but with millions of others across the world. Every seven minutes somewhere in the world a child is bullied, and every 17 seconds a child commits suicide because of cyber bullying. Cyber bullying can happen through many social networks such as twitter, instagram, and facebook. When you post something, tweet something or say something to someone on the internet it stays there forever even if you choose to delete it. Some people don’t realize that whatever they say to another person that isn’t necessarily nice can effect them more than they would ever know. But social networks aren’t just the problem. With all the responsibilities and stress that kids have such as from their families, school, friendships and sports, kids are now feeling like they don’t fit in and they can’t fit in at school. This is because people are creating groups like cliques, excluding others and making them feel unwanted. Bullying is pressing in on us partly because the rise of the internet forced us to see it up close in posts on any social network. One of the old problems is that parents were too prone to look the other way when stronger kids picked on the weaker ones. Years ago, bullying was committed one on one. It used to be when you left school, you left the bullying behind. Now of days it’s a completely different world. Now it follows you everywhere. It is accessible to millions of people that have a twitter, facebook, Instagram or any other kind of social networking account. That is why I’m taking a stand against bullying of any kind. What I am asking you to do today, is to take a stand with me as well as all the other students across the world. Have your family, friends, and co-workers stand as well to help us make an impact against bullying today and also into the future.
