Some Ukes I think would be suitable

Cordoba La Playa Tenor Ukulele Natural
This ukulele is a good buy for the money it has pretty clear tones, i'm not quite sure what it sounds like through an amp though.
Riptide EUC-5 Soprano Acoustic-Electric Ukulele Satin Finish Mahogany
Really great sound quality and a unique disign that gives the player a clear sound of the uke while resonating well because of its two holes, the one on the side is for the person who is playing the ukulele to be able to clearly hear what they are playing. Also really pretty.
Lanikai LU-21CE Concert Acoustic-Electric Ukulele Bundle with Gig Bag, Cherub Tuner, and Polishing Cloth
A pretty good deal for a beginner because it comes with a bag and a tuner, if you don't already have one. On the other hand it is the worst ukulele compared to the others i've listed.
Luna Guitars High-Tide Ovangkol Tenor Ukulele Ovangkol
This is actually the ukulele I have and I am yet to find flaw in both it's design and sound, it has a beautiful finish, great punchy tones and sounds great theough the right amp. I really don't have anything to complain about this ukulele other than the price, which is, to be honest pretty pricy for a first ukulele.
Luna Guitars Tattoo Concert Ukulele w/ Preamp Mahogany with Tattoo laser etch and Satin Finish
As a previous owner of this ukulele as well I can say that Luna makes very good ukuleles in both quality of sound and appearance, it is similar to the Ovangkol, only less exensive and is smaller, and it sounds a little worse through an amp. Still a very good value for the money.
