Top Projects:

  • Project 10 Basketball Fundamentals
    • Gabe and I are working together on this project. After Mr. Whitmer told us we could not do the soccer project anymore, the two of us thought of this. We film ourselves doing drills for basketball and then post them on our page. This project is a lot of fun.
  • Project 9 Soccer Skills
    • Ben, Gabe, and I are working together on this project. We changed to this project because we had lost interest in our guitar project. Our goal is to be able to do a certain number of skills from F2Freestylers basic videos. We are enjoying this project.
  • Project 8 Learning Guitar
    • Ben, gabe, and I are working on this project. This is our favorite project for thinkering so far. We think it will last the rest of the year since there is now stopping point in sight. Our guitar project is very fun.
  • Project 7 Learning Guitar
    • Ben Gabe and I are still in this project. We really like this project since we have started from the bottom in this project other than me. I enjoy teaching them stuff they don't understand. We are making good progress in this project and might do it all year.
  • Project 6 Code Avengers
    • Ben and I are still in this project. We have finished all the free stuff on JavaScript on Code Avengers, but we are doing Code Academy also. Our goal is to finish the free section that we are on, which we estimate should be done by the end of the quarter. We do not like JavaScript anymore at all.
  • Project 5 Code Avengers
    • In Code Avengers, I am in a group with Ben W. Our goal is to complete the the 3 lessons in JavaScript coding, each estimated at 15 hours, by the end of the year. JavaScript code is used mainly in Web Browsers, allowing the client to interact with the user.
  • Project 4 Minecraft Building
    • My project was to make a giant house out of stone, farms, mines, and a coliseum in Hardcore. Hardcore mode means that if i die, i lose and can't get the world back. I died about 2 or 3 weeks into the game. I realized that hardcore is unreasonbly hard and I then made a world with the exact same stuff I had. I am not done with the game, but I am close. This was my favorite project this year and last.
  • Project 3 shane's house
    • Minecraft is a casual, Indy game. It is about placing blocks and making things to help you survive. At night monsters come out and try to kill you. I learned that even if you have never played Minecraft before, if you play long enough, you will eventually become very good at it. Sometimes Minecraft is easy, and sometimes it is hard. But, the whole time it is still very fun
  • Project 2 Shane's adventures in Herobrines Mansion
    • Herobrine's mansion is a giant house with all the monsters ever made in the game. The first boss is a skeleton archer, then a witch, then a mage, then Herobrine, who is insanely hard, and the last boss is the Wither, the Wither is even harder than Herobrine. Minecraft is very fun. I love it.Shane's adventures in Herobrines Mansion
  • Project 1 The Town
    • I chose this for a few reasons. One, It shows perseverance through many problems and confusion. Also, it is my favorite project so far this year. Lastly, it is the best example of my skill level in Minecraft. Here is a zip file for our world The Town

Top Reflections:

  • "We went outside both days and got a lot of work done. On Friday we ran out of time and could not post the videos at the end of class. They will be posted at the beginning of class wednesday. "What helped your learning?" We practiced the things on Friday that we worked on against each other. There is no way to simulate having someone play defense, you have to have someone play defense. "What got in the way of your learning?" It is still chilly outside. The temperature is not bad enough to seriously affect the project, but it takes awhile to warm up.
    • This was one of my favorite reflections for a few reasons. I gave a thorough description of what happened every day. I also use two questions from the given list of questions to help guide my documentation.
  • "What helped your learning?" Youtube helped our learning with the vast amount of videos on it. Marshall also talked to us a little bit to help us. "What got in the way of your learning?" The fact that it is still cold outside and we can only research has been getting in the way of our learning.
    • This was my favorite reflection of the quarter for multiple reasons. First, it showed accurately what we had done that week and what our current situation was. Also, I used two good questions to quote and to ask myself. I liked this reflection because it was a good and thorough reflection.
  • "What got in the way of your learning?" The only thing that got in the way of our learning was Mr Whitmer forgetting to create a user on Mac 3. We did not get off topic at all this week. ""
Describe your progress towards your goals" We have most of wake me up when September ends so next week maybe Friday we will start wish you were here."
    • This was my favorite reflection of this quarter. I documented very well this reflection. I also answered the questions exactly as i should of.
  • I finished the project! I learned during the project that no matter what happens in minecraft, if you keep working, you will succeed. Early in the project, I decided to get rid of the diamond challenge, because it was ridiculously hard to do along with everything else. I have decided that Gabe, Ben W, Jack T, and I are going to have a project in Tekkit to get to the moon, make a base on the moon, and make a cookie factory on Earth. I think it will be fun if it is approved. tI would improve my teamwork skills
    • This was my favorite reflection of this quarter for a couple of reasons. One, it shows exactly what I did that week. Also, it shows what I learned that week about the game and learning. Lastly, it shows what I am planning on doing next week and in my next project.

I will update the world and a screenshot every week.We only had class on Thursday, so only got a little done. I started the excavation and building for the coliseum, which will take at least a week or week and a half. I put the screenshots and copy on my world, which shows everything i have.
    • This was my favorite reflection of the year for a couple of reasons. One was that it was the first one that had all of my screenshots and a copy of the world. Also, that week was the first week in a long time that I did not have computer issues and solved one of the issues.
  • I finished a level and then thought that this game is getting to be bad. There are a few reasons I would like to switch to a different project. One, Gamestar Mechanic is not that fun anymore. Also, the game is starting to lag. Lastly, when I have met the requirerments for a game I made, it says I have not met them
    • I put this in because I figured that it was time to move on with a project
  • I made a appocolyptic bunker in case the world is in total anarchy. Next time we will play in survival.
We started our brick house. It is made of brick and glass, and above ground. Next class we will finish it up and live in it.
    • I chose this for two reasons. One, I think the bunker was very cool. The other reason was that the house was very cool and fun. That project was very fun.
  • We learned that Nick and Jacob can be very mean in minecraft. We are having difficulty with doing all the quests that we are given while keeping up with getting food and expanding our house. Our next step will be to finish our current quest, which is going into the realm of teh spider and killing the spiders. We could make this more interesting by putting a mod into the server which makes us able to craft airplanes. Our plan held up well for both days. Lastly, we did complete our goals by getting an anvil, and finishing the available quests.
    • I chose this for a few reasons. One, it is very informational. Another reason is since it tells you every single thing that my group and I did. Lastly, we were very couragous in those 2 days.
  • "I finished the project! I learned during the project that no matter what happens in minecraft, if you keep working, you will succede. I would improve my teamwork skills."
    • I chose this reflection for multiple reasons. One, it accurately shows what I got done and what I did not get done. The second reason is since the group I was working with was very excited for the project.
  • "We learned" that this song does not have any barre chords. We all thought it would have them and it would be needed to play them, but we are mistaken, fortunately. "We want to know" when we will be able to use Rocksmith. Since that was supposed to be our main teacher our progress has been slower than anticipated. "If we had a do over" We would've uploaded our wish you were here files on friday not wednesday since it took time to find them and put them onto the wiki."
    • I chose this for two reasons. It was very descriptive of what I had done this week. Also, I was very honest with myself about our progress.

Critique:

  • "I think that this is a good project for you. Although, I think you should find more than just two sources of learning, just in case you start to dislike the one you are on. Also, instead of just googling help when you get stuck on a level, I think you should find a forum to use. Ben W and I did that last year, and although I cannot remember which one, it was very helpful to us."
    • This is one of my favorite critiques of the quarter. I tell trevor exactly what I think he should do to improve his project. I do this while being respectful and objective. Lastly, I draw from my past experiences to help trevor.
  • I think that your project is too easy. I don't think that making bracelets should take a quarter unless it is a very large amount of bracelets. Also, what are you going to do with the bracelets, sell them, or give them away. If sell, then you need a plan to sell them.
  • "I think you have done the same thing in your project over and over again. It is good that you have gotten better equipment, but other than that since the halfway point of last year nothing has changed. It is a good project just you can't do it this long."

    • This was my favorite critique this quarter because I was very straight up and right to the point. Another reason I liked this critique is that I gave them ideas on how to make their project better.
