Kcg2 Portfolio

Top Projects:

  • Gladiator MineCraft Battle
    • I chose this project as my top project for this quarter because I had fun learning something I didn't know before. I had to have my partner help me to learn something entirely new to me, which is a difficult task. The most difficult part of this project was helping Jon code; I often was using the wrong id or number for a item. Never before have i made a programed mine craft structure thanks to Jon I was able to do this.
  • Circuitry Project
    • I chose this project as my top project for quarter two because this is something i've wanted to do for a while. I didn't have a partner on this project. But I did learn something entirely new by teaching my self. The most difficult of this project was figuring out what everything did. I used the pre made projects to help me with this. This project may be unfinished but it is close to finished and still one of my best projects.
  • Minecraft Survival That Was Supposed To Be A Technic Survival But Is Now Vanilla
    • I chose this project as my top project for quarter three because I have never gotten to the late game of Minecraft before and it's a new experience as I am learning how to do better in Minecraft. I have my partner Jon who is more experienced than me. He has been showing me through examples and explaining how the newer stuff in Minecraft works. I never knew things like how the new enchanting system works, or how to create a quarry. This project is still going on.
  • Civilization 5
    • I chose this project as my top project of the quarter because I learned new skills as this is a historical education game. I enjoyed my time with the project and we were successful in winning. I also learned strategy like to park troops outside enemy boarders when preparing for a war. Another good strategy that learned was to excel in science and conquer all the lesser civilizations.

Top Reflections

  • "We shifted focus to the programing and decided that we will finish the classes of the gladiator battle. We had a little trouble getting on task on Thursday, but we were completely on task today. We work best when we each help each other and test the game together. We need to work on making longer reflections and detailed plans. Some days we do not follow our plan, but we usually get work done."
    • This reflection gives a shot summary of what I did that week, mentions our work efficiency and answers the reflection prompts. This reflection tells the reader that I sometimes get distracted, but more importantly that I know that I get distracted. It shows what I need to work on and how I can work on it.
  • "Today I planned to finish my project. But Mr Whitmer wanted me to check out little bits so I tried those out today. They were different and felt more advanced then snap circuits."
    • This reflection shows what I planned to do. It also shows what had happened and what I thought. This is important because the little bits were very different than the snap circuits. It even shows how the little bits were more advanced than the snap circuits.
  • "Today I planned to finish my project. But Mr Whitmer wanted me to check out little bits so I tried those out today. They were different and felt more advanced then snap circuits."
    • This reflection shows what how I was derailed from my original plan and I described how the experience was using the little bits.
  • "We had a peace treaty with rome so we destroyed babylon and this is a picture of the conquered Babylonian cities."

    • I chose this reflection because I describe what happened , why it happened and a picture so you didn't have to visualize it. The reflection even shows our progress in the game on the map as we are becoming bigger.

Top Critiques:

  • "How will you be making this and where is your network?"
    http://thinkeringstudio.wikis.birmingham.k12.mi.us/Custom+Cases+Proposal
    • This is one of my top critiques because I was straight to the point. I also chose it because I was being polite and not accusing him before giving him a chance to explain or fix his project. Finally, I chose it mainly because I was helping him fix his proposal so that he could start his project.

  • "What is your end goal? Could you develop your PLN beyond youtube?"
    • I chose this as one of my top critiques because I ask them about the future of their project and I ask them about their PLN of which they needed to develop.

  • "I think it's a great project, but could add some samples of of 3d printed cars to compare to yours. "
    http://thinkeringstudio.wikis.birmingham.k12.mi.us/CWH3+Journal#discussion About CWH3's 3d printing project
    • I think this is one of my top critiques because I complimented the project and I didn't pressure him into doing anything as I suggested and didn't demand that he'd did it.
  • "I think this project is interesting, but you guys could develop your PLN."
    • I think this is one of my top critiques because i complimented their project and didn't interrogate them about their PLN but instead softly questioned them about it. Also my suggestion would have been beneficial to their project.
